Table of Contents       4. Organize your catalogs in NeoFinder

4.12 Delete items from a catalog

You can remove items from your NeoFinder catalogs.

Select the files or folders, and use the context menu command "Remove from Catalog" or the Command-Delete keyboard combination.

NeoFinder will then ask you if you wish to remove the selected items form the Catalog, and if you acknowledge this, it will remove them for you.

If you have a very large Catalog with millions of items, and folders or just a lot of files selected, that may take a moment.

You also have the option to
remove items from both the NeoFinder Catalog and the actual files on your disks.

Notes
When you Update a Catalog, NeoFinder will make sure that all items in the catalogued disk or folder are placed in the Catalog. That means that items you have previously deleted will be added again if they are still contained on the disk.
If you wish to keep certain types of files, or certain folders from being added to the Catalog, please use the
special exclusion settings before cataloging.

Thumbnails for deleted items are currently not removed, and will stay in the Catalog until the next Update is run.
