Table of Contents       4. Organize your catalogs in NeoFinder

4.6 Database Status

The database of NeoFinder can grow quite large over time, and the Database Status display is a good place to keep track of what is going on in your NeoFinder Database, and change some essential settings.

Simply select LIBRARY in the left section of the main NeoFinder window.

The NeoFinder Catalog LIBRARY

Then, the Inspector will display the Database Status for you on the right side of the window.

Database Settings in the Inspector

Here, you can see the currently used path of your database folder, the total number of catalogs, and the number of folders you have created to group your catalogs.

Catalog Files
This shows how much space the entire database folder uses, and how many catalog files are currently loaded into memory, and how much memory they use. If you feel you need some of that memory for other applications, you can
release it and unload all catalogs from memory.

Volumes
A statistical overview of the original volumes you have cataloged, and how much total capacity they have, and how much free space is on them in total.

Catalog Items
This is another statistical total of all cataloged files and folders for you.

Sync database folder
If you have a NeoFinder Business License, you can ask NeoFinder to "Keep kooking for changes", which means that NeoFinder will keep checking the Catalogs and Folders in the database folder for any changes.
That way, the NeoFinder on one computer in your
network can quickly see any changes another NeoFinder (or abeMeda for Windows) on a different computer makes, such as added or renamed catalogs or catalog folders.

View
NeoFinder can show the folders inside your catalogs in the LIBRARY to help you navigating through large Catalogs. If you rather don't wish to see these folders in the LIBRARY, you can turn that option off here.
