"I've been using CD Finder for quite a few years and it just keeps
getting better and better. It really is the most useful utility
I've ever purchased, and of course as virtually all my work is
digital nowadays, having a storage cataloguing and retrieval system
that works seamlessly is vital. Thanks especially for your ongoing
development work. Very much appreciated."Jonathan,
Tasmania, Australia
"I would just like to thank you for the update. It
is really great! All the new features, the split window (very
handy), the icon previews - just wonderful. I've been using
CDFinder for a while now, and it has become an indispensable part
of my archiving system. To give us such a great upgrade without any
upgrade price is also very generous of you - thank you!"Jerry, South Africa

"Just wanted to thank you for CDFinder. Excellent!!!! I loved
"Findit" from Iomega and always wished there was something out
there that was simular. So, I searched and behold! I found
CDFinder. So, I downloaded your free trial version and as soon as I
found out I could import Findit files (go figure, smart!) I almost
fell off my chair and proceeded to immediately purchase the
software. So, thanks"Jeff R, East Petersburg, PA,

Locr DropBox for Mac
by CDFinder chief developer Norbert M. Doerner, 2009
Locr DropBox, the new stand-alone application for Mac OS X allows
you to upload your photos to the popular Locr geotagging community.
Simply drag your photos into the Dropbox application, or onto its
icon, or use the Service menu in any application. Along with the
photos, their geotags, their description, as well as any keywords
are being sent to the server. The uploaded photos can be stored
into new, or existing albums.
System requirements: Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5 Price: Locr DropBox for Mac is free! Version: 1.0 of June 24, 2009
Video Tutorial:
How do I install the "Locr DropBox"?
Just download the DMG (disk image) file using the Download button
above. Open that disk image, and copy over the Locr Dropbox
application to your Applications folder. Place an Alias of the app
on your Dektop, or add it to the Dock for faster access.
I don't have a Locr account yet?
Really? You should definitely change that quickly. Simply sign-up for
free!
And this cool application is really free?
Yes, it is. The CDFinder team has used a lot of know-how from the
main CDFinder development process (the high-performance
CDFinder of course also uploads photos very rapidly to Locr!), and
so we had decided to make this app free.
Of course, we would appreciate a donation to buy chocolate for the
development team, just use this button here:
And we also appreciate feedback, so please let us know what you
think!
Must photos have a geotag prior to
uploading?
No, geotags are helpful, but not required. After uploading your
photos, you can still add geotags to them on the Locr website in a
very comfortable way.
Did you write any other cool software that supports
geotags?
Yes, actually, we do. If you are interested in geotagging, the free
GPS-Info CMM will be a great extension of the
contextual menu for you. It displays any embedded geotag directly
in the Finder, and allows you to view that place in Google Earth,
and several web sites, and more.
And our powerful flagship application CDFinder, a
full-fledged disk cataloger, has extensive geotagging support. With
its GeoFinder, you can find photos taken anywhere in the world, and
it offers KMZ export and more. Our CDFinder video tutorials are already covering
some of these abilities. And we also offer plug-ins for Apples
Aperture and iPhoto to quickly upload your photos from
inside these applications.
How do I know which photos I have uploaded
already?
After a successful upload of a photo, Locr Dropbox adds the
Locr-URL of the photo to the Spotlight comment of the original
file. If the file had a comment already, the URL will be added at
the end of that, of course.
Which file formats are supported?
JPG, most RAW formats, and TIFF. Since Locr uses JPG, this fine
application converts the uploaded data of your photos to JPG for
you automatically.
Is there also a Locr DropBox for Microsoft
Windows?
Actually, yes, there is!
I use a different language than English, is Locr Dropbox
also available in my language?
This new application comes in English, German, French, Spanish,
Italian, Swedish, and Dutch, all in one package.
Do you also have plug-ins for Apples iPhoto and
Aperture?
Yes, we do! With Locr for iPhoto, and Locr for Aperture, you can
upload photos directly from iPhoto and Aperture. More... And don't forget that CDFinder also
offers a speedy upload tool, integrated into the premiere media
management application.
